I added slight pigment to the top to bring out the grain in the spruce, but the coloring in the red maple back, sides and neck are all natural. I’ve been saving this beautiful, figured maple heartwood for a special instrument. I couldn’t be happier with the way this one has turned out. And already, right out of the shop, it displays a BIG bluegrass tone with great chops, good volume, barking lows… twinkling highs, signature Pomeroy sustain.
