This just completed in September of 2024, a custom 2 point V style mandola. I’ve had more than a few requests for these lately, thanks to the talented playing and quality videos of Colin Botts on Youtube. This one went to a new friend from Germany. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I‘ve finally received my mandola! What can I say? It‘s probably the finest instrument I’ve ever played. Beautiful rich and complex tone, wonderful low end, sweet trebles, amazing sustain and an overall bell like chime. In comparison my – very decent – Eastman MDA815 sounds flat and muffled.
The overall craftsmanship is impeccable and the finish so classy and beautiful. The action and playability are top notch, it plays like butter. Due to its unbelievable sustain and depth of tone this V-style mandola is particularly suitable for solo playing. This instrument is just so inspiring, I always have to consciously force myself to stop playing.
