This marks a milestone for the Pomeroy shop… #200! I wanted it to be unique and had thought to try this for some time. The top and back overhang the sides and in place of bindings I have inlaid perfling into a more pronounced re-curve around the perimeter. It’s assembled with traditional hide glue and finished with a brushed oil varnish and so is a reflection of violin construction in many ways. The results of this have excited me and I am anxious to build more like it in the future. Tonewise, it has a pronounced bluegrass bark across the fingerboard with crisp, crystalline highs and open, guttural lows.
Mandolin #200 also features:
- Colorado Englemenn top, with tone bars
- Figured Red maple back sides and neck
- Golden Age “Relic” tuners
- 1 1/8″ width bone nut
- Soft “V” neck profile
- Radiused fingerboard with MOP dots and side markers
- Bill James solid cast tailpiece with “Pomeroy” inscription hand applied oil varnish finish
- Hardshell case
- Full lifetime warranty
Offered at $3200.00 [ SOLD ]
