Pomeroy mandolin #236 just complete in May 2017

…Yet another “V” style A-2 model, with overhangs and inlaid perflings top and back. These have been selling as fast as I can list them so I’ll certainly continue building them. This one in particular has a wildly figured, 2 piece back and features the same signature sound as our more traditional oval holes. Listen to the audio sample below. There is depth and surprising volume to these warm and resonant tones across the board; rich, full and sweet.
These “V” style models take a bit longer to build than the typically bound and appointed mandolins. The carving process is more involved, among other things. But I love the look and feel of them… a richly vintage, unique appearance with applied pigments that highlight the quality of the wood. With its simple appointments it’s organic but elegant- a truly unique mandolin.
