Completed in April 2020, this oval hole mandolin features black walnut back, sides and neck. Its the 2nd one that I’ve made in walnut, but thanks to a very lucky find, I’ll be making many more. It is a softer wood than maple and lends a slightly softer, sweeter tone to the overall tonal profile, as well as having visual features that are unique and unmatched in a typical mandolin, I think you’ll agree. It also features the following:

  • “V” style construction, plates overhanging the sides with inlaid violin perfling top and back
  • Artist grade Englemenn spruce top, X braced
  • Golden Age “Relic” tuners in vintage in brass finish w/ matching tailpiece
  • 1 3/16″ width ebony nut
  • Shop made ebony adjustable bridge/saddle
  • Adjustable truss rod and 3 piece laminate neck construction
  • Soft “V” neck profile
  • 10″ Radiused fingerboard with MOP dots and side markers
  • oil varnish finish
  • Hardshell case included
  • Full lifetime warranty

offered at $2400.00

“The mandolin is indeed beautiful. The wood, the finish, the craftsmanship and all the details add up to one pretty little baby. I played it for about an hour this afternoon, getting to know it and listening to the sound opening up. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to play. Chords are resonant and clear, melodies sing. It shines from within.”     Claudia Vivanco, owner # 259    May 2020
